Data Protection Notice
This document describes the procedures used to process the personal data of users who visit this website (the "Website") and use the services offered by Global Garden Products Italy S.p.A. ("GGP Italy") on the Website.
1. Data Controller
Global Garden Products Italy S.p.A., whose registered office is situated at Via del Lavoro 6, Castelfranco Veneto (TV), Italy, tax identification and VAT no. 07684381002.
2. Where We Process the Data and How We Protect the Data
Processing connected with the services provided through the Website will be performed with automated tools by the personnel in charge of processing at GGP's offices; the data will be stored on GGP Italy's servers.
GGP protects, controls and processes the personal data supplied by you, implementing adequate safety measures and procedures, including those based on knowledge acquired with technical progress, with the aim of minimising the risks of destruction, loss, unauthorised processing, access or processing not in accordance with the said purposes. However, users should note that the use of the Internet is not wholly immune from the risk of unauthorised access, and the security of the information therefore cannot be completely guaranteed.
3. Type of data processed
Data supplied voluntarily by the User
Users are not required to provide any personal data in order to consult the public pages of the Website.
Any contacts by the User with GGP, and optional, explicit, spontaneous sending of messages, e-mails or conventional mail, to the addresses specified on this Website, entail the subsequent acquisition of the sender's address, e-mail address or telephone number required to answer requests, and any other personal data included in the related communications. These data will only be used to fulfil the User's request, and will only be disclosed to third parties if necessary for that purpose (e.g. a forwarding company for sending information material about our products and services). The data will not be disseminated. The data will be stored for as long as strictly necessary to provide the User with the requested service.
Data supplied at the time of registration for the newsletter service and/or to receive commercial communications relating to GGP products and services
If the User registers for the newsletter service and/or the User asks to receive newsletters and/or commercial communications, the processing will relate to the contact data supplied by the User at the stage of registering for the said service.
4. Why and How We Process the Data
The personal data will be collected and processed mainly:
(1) to fulfil the User's requests (e.g. management of requests for information);
(2) for marketing purposes by sending, by e-mail or conventional mail (if the User supplies his/her address), newsletters and/or commercial, promotional or information communications relating to GGP products and services, and initiatives and events organised by or in collaboration with GGP. If the User has consented to the processing of his/her data for marketing purposes, the said data may also be processed for the purpose of conducting, by traditional mail or e-mail, statistical analyses, surveys and market research relating to GGP services. The User's personal data will only be processed for those purposes after the User's registration by filling in the box at the foot of the Website pages.
The processing may relate to one or more of the following operations: collection, registration, consultation, organisation, storage, processing, disclosure, modification, selection, use or deletion.
5. Whether Providing Data is Voluntary or not
The provision of the data marked as necessary at the contact request stage (e.g. contact, requester's name and company) is essential to fulfil the User's requests. GGP may need to obtain further information, depending on the specific requests sent by the User. The provision of such additional information is optional, but if it is not provided, it may be difficult or impossible for GGP to fulfil the User's request.
The provision of an e-mail address is essential for sending the newsletter and/or marketing communications, if the User has asked to receive them.
6. Web-Surfing Data - Cookies
The information systems and programs used for the operation of the Website collect some items of personal data, transmission of which is inherent in the use of Internet communication protocols (e.g. IP addresses or domain names of the computers used by users who connect to the Website, the URI - Uniform Resource Identifier addresses of the resources requested, the time of the request, the method used to submit the request to the server, the size of the file obtained in reply, the digital code regarding the status of the answer given by the server (successful, error, etc.), and other parameters relating to the User's operating system and IT environment). Although this information is not collected for the purpose of being associated with identified data subjects, due to its nature it may enable Users to be identified as a result of processing and association with data held by third parties.
This data is used for the sole purpose of obtaining anonymous statistical information about the use of the Website and monitoring its correct operation, and is deleted immediately after processing. The data may be used to establish liability in the event of computer crimes to the prejudice of the Website; in all other cases, data relating to website contacts do not currently persist for more than seven days.
In some cases, personal data is collected by GGP Italy with various technologies, including "cookies". Cookies consist of a set of data sent by a website to a "browser" (which could be your browser). This information can then be stored on the computer (including your computer) by means of a tag that identifies the computer but not the user.
7. Disclosure and Dissemination of Data
For the correct performance of the above-mentioned functions, the data may be processed by the administrative, commercial and technical GGP personnel, and by the personnel of other companies which, in the capacity of data processors, provide services to GGP (e.g. suppliers of e-marketing, and website maintenance and management services).
GGP may also disclose some of the User's personal data to affiliated companies and its retailers or agents if essential to fulfil a request made by the User, e.g. for an estimate.
An updated list of the said parties can be obtained contacting GGP as described under point 8 below.
Under no circumstances will the data collected be assigned to third parties for use by the said third parties for their own purposes; however, in the event of extraordinary company operations (e.g. sale or leasing of the corporate assets), the data may be assigned or transferred to third-party purchasers/lessees or assignees.
The data will not be disseminated.
8. Data subject's rights.
According to the applicable data protection legislation the data subject (ie. the User) has certain rights, including the right to obtain confirmation at any time as to whether the said data exist, to be informed of their contents and origin, to check on their correctness, and request an addition, update or rectification thereof. The User is also entitled to request that data processed in violation of the law be erased, anonymized or blocked, and to object to its processing for legitimate reasons in any event, including opting out from marketing communications and/or newsletter.
In order to exercise these rights, the User may directly contact GGP Italy at the contact addresses specified in paragraph 1, or sending a communication to email@example.com or phoning +39 0423 450111.
