How does a STIGA autonomous robot mower work?

Discover how a STIGA autonomous robot mowers work

The new STIGA autonomous robotic lawn mower delivers intelligent mowing – cable free offering maximum freedom and flexibility in the garden. As there is no need to dig, bury or peg a perimeter wire – the virtual boundary is installed and maintained via the APP.

The innovative, patented STIGA AGS technology allows our new autonomous robot mower to be predictive, and literally map its future mowing pattern in your garden. But what are the benefits of choosing a STIGA autonomous robot lawn mower? Let's have a look together:

Active garden mapping

Our autonomous robot mower maps the garden into a grid of separate cells using the satellites above. It monitors how these satellites move above each cell and then assigns a signal quality score to each cell and which it continuously updates as it follows the satellites movement.

No Boundaries

Obstacles such as trees, walls and hedges can impact satellite visibility as they move across the sky reducing the available signal within some cells at certain times of the day. STIGA AGS technology continually maps the sky and ensures that the robot only mows those cells when the signal quality score is good enough.

Adaptable perimeter

With no physical boundary the new STIGA autonomous robot mower has a virtual perimeter that can be fully manged via the STIGA Go.APP. This allows you to update the cutting area of the robotic mower if you make changes to your garden, such as adding a trampoline, new flowerbed or garden pond.

Predictive planning

The patented AGS technology memorises the satellite signal and evaluates the quality of the signal across the lawn. Based on this information the autonomous robot mower will plan in advance each mowing session to prevent any signal loss and ensure the robot covers the whole garden without any interruption. The starting point and cutting path are checked before each mowing cycle and recalculated if required.
