Cookie Policy

Our website uses cookies to improve your online experience. Stiga gives to your privacy the utmost importance; therefore, by means of this policy we wish to inform you about which cookies are used and how to manage them.

1 - Who is the data controller?

The data controller is Stiga S.p.A. (“Stiga”), with registered office in 31033 Castelfranco Veneto (TV), Italy, via del Lavoro 6. Stiga appointed a data protection officer (“DPO”), that you may contact for the exercise of your rights, as well as for asking any further information, at the following addresses: STIGA S.p.A, DPO office, via del Lavoro 6, 31033 Castelfranco Veneto, Italy; e-mail: dpo@stiga.com

2 - What is a cookie?

When you visit a website, the latter may store or retrieve information on your browser, mostly by means of cookies.
A cookie is a small text file carrying bits of information (a string of letters and numbers); this text file is transmitted from a server to a browser when you visit a website, and then saved by the browser. The respective ID is then transmitted back again every time the browser requests a page from the server.
The information retrieved by cookies might be about you, your preferences, your device or used to make the website work as you expect it to.
Cookies do not usually contain any information allowing you to be personally identified, but they can give you a more personalized and enjoying web experience. It is, however, possible that the cookie provider links personal details that it has saved about you to the details stored in the cookies.

3 - Different types of cookies

First party / third party cookies
Cookies can be installed by the operator of the website the user is visiting (“first party cookies”) or by other websites (“third party cookies”).

Persistent cookies / session cookies
There are cookies which are permanently stored in the user’s device until their expiration or deletion by the user (“persistent cookies”) or cookies that are automatically eliminated any time the website browsing session ends or when the browser is closed (“session cookies”).

Technical cookies

Technical cookies are those used for the sole purpose of carrying out the electronic communication, or strictly necessary for the electronic service provider to provide the service explicitly requested by the user.
Technical cookies can be divided into:
• browsing and session cookies: these cookies guarantee regular navigation and use of the website (e.g. allowing the access to restricted areas);
• analytics cookies: these cookies enable website operators to anonymously monitor the method of using its web pages by visitors for statistical survey purposes, allowing them to optimize the site functioning and offer a better browsing experience;
• functional cookies: these cookies allow the user to browse as a function of certain pre-determined criteria (e.g., the language) in order to improve the service offered.
These cookies are necessary for the Website to function properly and are not used for any further purposes.
Your prior consent IS NOT NECESSARY for the use of these cookies.

Profiling cookies
Our website also uses profiling cookies, that may be set either by Stiga or by third parties.
Profiling cookies are aimed at creating user profiles. They are used to send ads messages in line with the preferences shown by the user during navigation. A website can operate without them without impairing in any way the user’s browsing experience.
Your prior consent IS NECESSARY for the use of these cookies.
