Frank lives with his wife, two sons and dog Ernie in Muenster, Germany. The family has a beautiful garden of around 1700m2, that consists of various areas for their different hobbies, like yoga, outdoor cinema, boating as well as quiet spaces for a morning coffee.
Life before robot mower
Due to the large size of the green space Frank invested 2-3 hours every other Saturday in the past, in order to keep the lawn in shape. Even though his lawn mower tractor was efficient, Frank needed a change. He no longer wanted to be tied to a biweekly mowing session, no matter the weather.
Since the family has friends who already own a robot mower they became interested in the idea of purchasing one themselves. However Frank had doubts about the suitability of their garden, as it is kept in a more organic way with occasional branches fallen down and above all there was the worry the robot might end up in the river, that runs right along their lawn.
As a result Frank arranged an appointment to learn more about different robot mower options at a hardware store. Completely open-minded he went to the consultion.
Due to the particular layout of his garden the sales person recommended STIGA and Frank’s new gardening chapter began.

The robot mower experience
During the consultation Frank learned that robot mowers don’t exclusively come with wires. For his garden, with its particular layout and dynamic set up an autonomous robot mower was clearly the best idea. The family can change the different zones, move sitting areas as they please and the robot will adapt without a problem.
When we meet Frank his autonomous robot has been mowing the lawn for several weeks. A few safety zones have been set up along the river, where the robot doesn’t cut and Frank occasionally mows manually in a quick 15 min session after work. He highlights that this is exactly the kind of freedom he was looking for. The easy set up and change of the different cutting zones via the STIGA.GO app is another plus that the family enjoys.
The installation and management of the robot via STIGA.GO app is easy and you can access information and intervene, if necessary, remotely.
